Chandni Chowk street food

Food can change moods. There are many days when we feel the need for a pleasant change without traveling too far from the city. That's for the city folks. Visitors also can enjoy the unique and distinct food variety available at Chandni Chowk,Delhi. The narrow streets buzz with activity and people walking fast.

 Some good eating joints -
 Vegetarian delights

Nataraj Cafe is a quaint shop that's hardly visible from the big hoarding of Haldirams. Whats available is - Alu tikki and Bhalla. They taste uniquely excellent and has to be tried. There's also a Jelebi shop near the gurudwara which is also famous. Maybe one would like to have Jelebi in the traditional way by having it soaked in milk!

 Non veg delights

Karims is located opposite Jama Masjid, close to Gate No.1 of the masjid. It has been serving non-vegetarian food since 1913 and is one of the most famous restaurants in Delhi.Don't let the looks and the casual approach of the restaurant or the waiters "I hardly care" attitude fool you. Karims has been highly acclaimed by Time magazine as among the restaurants in Asia, Beside that other fans include BBC Food Guide, National Geographic to name a few. Karims let the food do their talking :)

One can try Mutton Burra - these are marinated succulent pieces of mutton cooked in an oven ! And then there are a variety of dishes.

So when are you going  ?
